Iron Gym Workout Bar
This product works fine. You may need to retighten the bolts and nuts from time to time due to use. But, otherwise a simple effective product. Even my 4 year old uses it, maybe not for the original purpose, but he gets a workout as well. You are not able to shut the door all the way, but not a big concern. If you're using this in conjunction with a work out video like I am, it is hard to find a door sill pointing in the direction of the TV. Shipped in a timely manner. Good product. 2008-12-29
Iron Gym Total Body Workout Bar Review
I picked this doorway bar because it advertises no damage to the door frame, which, for the most part, is true.
However, I did notice some stress in the support beams for the doorway. Moreover, the clearance at the top of the doorway is restricted, because of ventilation ducts (I installed mine in the basement), so the bar does have a tendency to 'push' on the ceiling.
Overall, I do like this product, it's quite a bit better than other doorway bars in that it doesn't stretch the door frame or cause other damage.
I especially like the handle bars that provide a third type of exercise, contrary to standard doorway bars.

ok workout bar, perfect for apartments
the iron gym bar is a fairly good product. the maximum weight of 300 pounds though is a little optimistic. i weigh 150lbs and it works fine for me, however my friend who weighs a little over 250lbs has a hard time using the iron gym without it bending under his weight. granted it does hold him though only barely. so if you are under 200lbs and don't have very much space then i would recommend this. though buy it on amazon on not through there TV offer, because you get ripped off through the TV. also the iron gym does not give you enough clearance do do proper dips, and the ab straps are pointless. but if this is for someone in an apartment like myself then it is invaluable. 2008-12-27

I use the bar for pull-ups, chin-ups and push-ups. the video is my entry for the Iron Gym Fans Pull-Up Competition on Facebook. I did 14 pull-ups. Please note, I install the workout bar into my door fram in an unconventional way because the frame is wider than modern frames. I do not recommend this installation. 2008-12-27
