please don't waste your money on these spouts that are not a Klean Kanteen product, they are just Avent spouts that you can buy for less than $5 at Target and not have to pay another $4 for shipping. 2008-05-05
Plastic free
My doctor recommended that I read a book called What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer by Dr. Lee. Because of what I have read in that book and the health risks revealed about BPA and how plastic leaches estrogens into our food and water when it gets warm, I am on a mission to keep my food and drink from touching plastic. Klean Kanteen's 40oz bottle is the perfect size for me to take my filtered water from home with me so that I can stay hydrated at school--its most of my water for the day. Aluminum changes temperature quickly, so if you like cold water you might want to consider purchasing the insulating sleeve that Klean Kanteen makes. It works great for me and has helped me take charge of my health. The rest of the teachers at work have asked me where I got my super cool water bottle and want to switch to stainless steel too. Klean Kanteen is the only stainless steel water bottle that I have found that also has an all stainless steel cap so that you can be sure that no plastic comes in contact with the contents. 2008-05-04
Too Noisy
Love the bottle but much prefer the poly cap. The stainless on stainless cap is so LOUD when opening or closing that it couldn't possibly be used discretely in a library, classroom or indoor setting. 2008-05-03
Getting away from plastic
We wanted to have a stainless steel cap rather than plastic. We are very happy with this product. 2008-03-27
What happened to the stainless steel caps?
What happened to the stainless steel caps??? They used to come standard. I am not gving the low rating to this cap, but to the fact that they have switched to plastic. The whole idea was to have the internal part of the screw top to be steel, so there's no plastic touching your liquid. The exterior grip on the lid was always plastic - that's fine. But now, you have to buy the original stainless screw cap as an accessory that costs more than 1/3 as much as the entire bottle product.
Shame on you Klean Kanteen.
