Polar WearLink+ Coded Transmitter and Belt Set (Medium-XX-Large)

It's amazing how many different functions this device unleashed on the treadmill I use. It's great to enter age, desired heartrate, speed and incline and away you go. Constant communication between the treadmill and the monitor maintain elevation and speed to keep me in my target zone.
Highly recommended for anyone who works out primarily on the treadmill.

I highly recommened upgrading from the Polar T31 or T61 transmitter to the Wearlink. It feels more like a piece of clothing than the older rubber type straps. Plus, it has a replaceable battery. That alone will save you money in the long run, since the T31 and T61 batteries are not replaceable. The Wearlink feels great and works like a charm!

I purchased this product to replace the original transmitter that came with my Polar F6. The biggest improvement is that original transmitter didn't come with replaceable batteries and this one does. Unfortunately, I didn't have my original long enough (lost in the locker room) to verify that the batteries do last two years so I am not sure how big of an issue this really is. I also question any electronics purchase that is expected to last longer than two years these days...

This version does come with a method for user replacing the batteries but at two costs: 1) It is not as comfortable to wear as the original strap. The new strap just seems to sit a little funny and rubs my skin the wrong way. 2) You must wet the strap with water, not just spit. The older version you could moisten the leads with a little bit of saliva on your fingers. The new strap you must really use water.

Many people have complained about the small size of the strap. Yes, the strap is pretty small. I typically wear a 48 or 50 jacket and the XX-Large strap barely fits me. I hope that as I continue to exercise this will be less of an issue so maybe this is good motivation ;-)

All in all, it is a good product as are all the Polar products I have used. I wish it was more streamlined like the original strap, but it is a fine replacement especially if you are concerned about owning for many years of hard use.

This transmitter is much better than the original that came with my Polar S410 monitor. It is more comfortable and the battery is replaceable making it usable for longer period of time.

The Polar Wearlink transmitter is better fitting than previous transmitters. The strap is easier to adjust, and it stays where you put it. It is also more confortable and because it stays in place, it is more accurate.

I turned on my treadmill simultaneously while using my elliptical trainer, and the coded technology worked perfectly. It did not interfere with the machine next to me. I was quite pleased. This product would work perfectly in a gym situation, because it seems to only work with the equipment the strap wearer is using.
