Great Value, must understand limitations
The Total Gym 1100 is a great value given its low price combined with the number of exercise you can perform. I rated it 4 starts, but 3.5 would be more accurate. Buying the more expensive models does not greatly increase what you can do; it just improves the quality and throws in a few accessories. You can get a pretty good upper body workout on this machine, but this in not the machine if you want to do a lot of work on your legs or abs. The construction and components are not high quality, but that should be expected when buying the base line model. Nothing has broken yet, but some of the padding is showing major signs of wear after only a few months. This is a great item to if you want a good (not great) workout at a very low price, just don't expect it to do everything.
Pros:
- Can perform most of the same exercise as more expensive models
- Fairly easy to move and store away
- Good upper body workout, especially shoulders

Cons:
- Not for developing muscle mass, nor is it great for lower body or core
- Quality of machine/components is not very good (this should be expected for the price)

Can't assemble
I have had this for four weeks and still don't know how to assemble. Have not been able to use it. 2008-05-27

It is fairly easy to set up. It doesn't roll real easy, but it works.
It is exactly what I was looking for. You can pay much more for their upgraded devices, but for the average person this is probably all you will need.

Total Gym
THis machine is wonderful. It makes a HUGE difference without over exurting your body.... I definitely recommend this for a busy lifestyle and even the young. Because there are no weights, it doesn't over use your muscles, it tones and strengthens the proper way!!!

Awesome.......
I would highly recommend this equipment to anyone who wants exercising to be anything but a chore. It was very easy to set up and was especially easy to use. The free shipping was also a plus because no businesses in my area had anymore Total Gyms and I was afraid to pay an arm and a leg to have it shipped (would have been about $70 to ship). BUY IT!!!!!! IT WORKS AWESOME!!!! 2008-05-13
