Edge 500 Manual Treadmill
The only problem I had with it was the console. The wires wouldn't reach . But I simply unscrewed the console, and fortunately was able to shove the rubber covering the bar over a bit and then screw the console back on and then the wires connected without difficulty. The console works very well, and the whole thing took only about 2 hours to put together. It works well, but there is no way to make it flat, if that's what you want. But I think it was worth the money.

Good customer service; bad, bad product
My first Edge 500 broke within a few days. Something broke off inside and began to rattle loudly whenever I took a step. In addition, the belt walked itself over to the right side until it jammed against the side of the treadmill and refused to budge. Customer service was very helpful and cooperative, sending another treadmill promptly. Having foolishly discarded the first box, I returned the product in the box from the second treadmill. We "greased up" the second Edge 500, using its recommended product, and aligned the belt, again, using its product. Within 15 minutes it began to whine and squeal with a sound which only increased in intensity while the belt rapidly walked itself over toward the right, as the first Edge 500 had done. We just cut our losses and hauled the thing over to the Salvation Army donation center. You truly do get what you pay for.

Great workout for busy people!
I've always stayed away from treadmills because of the size and the expense, but this turned out to be my dream! It was easy to assemble, it's just the right size for my average height, and I love that it takes up very little space. I can get a great workout in 20 minutes in my own living room. I hate to exercise, but now I find I'm exercising more because it's ready to go, any time of the day. The customer service reps were great when I had questions and had to replace the console, but it's been working since. I enjoy the fact that it's up to me to burn as many calories and walk as far as I am able at my own pace. I've been very happy with this purchase.

waste of money!
If you are looking for an inexpensive treadmill, I advise buying a better one used. This treadmill is a total piece of junk. My workout consists of walking for 5 minutes, and then getting on my hands a knees to adjust the belt. then i get to walk for about another 7 minutes before the belt wiggles the other way. and back and forth it goes.

you feel like you have to have a death grip on the handlebars to stay upright and moving, which means you are exercising with really poor posture. all this while cheap sounding parts clank around.

the "monitor" piece also broke the first night we set this thing up.

would send it back were it not so heavy + cumbersome to deal with.

save your money!

Good workout for the bucks
This is my first treadmill. It will certainly give you a good, hard workout being a manual. My only complaint is that the short length and narrow width prohibits me from using my normal walking stride, but it's good for those times I can't or don't want to walk the neighborhood. The price was right and fairly easy to put together - just be patient if you have to adjust the belt - eventually, it stays put.
