Schwinn Airdyne Upright Exercise Bike

My new exercise bike has exceeded my expectations and is proving to be of great value to my fitness program.

If I would give this bike 10+ stars I could!

I absolutely despise exercise. It is just plain boring. However, I love to play sports (tennis is my favorite) and I am not in terrible shape just bad shape. I started using this bike when I developed "neck issues" about 8 years ago in PT. Loved it so much that I bought one then and have been on and off of it again and again. This time I will stay on....lol. My neck issues are not so apparent when I do ride it frequently. I have also been a member of about every health club in my area. The other machines loose appeal after about a month.

Assembly isn't that bad. Just lay out the pieces and imagine how they fit together over a cup of coffee. I had it together in 45 minutes and my husband was speechless. As I ride my bike, I stare at my husband's Erg rowing machine. Bike is way more fun!!!

ps: as for the seat....yeah terribly uncomfortable. I have tried every bike seat in the house (8) and a few bought ones. They are all uncomfortable after 20 minutes. I put the original Airdyne seat one on my mountain bike and you should see the looks I get. It is kinda funny looking with the huge seat, but it is more comfortable there than on the Airdyne.

I love this bike. it was easy to put together, the seat is vary comfortable to sit on, and when you pedal the fan keeps you cool. Great bike!!!!!!!!

Other reviewers on this particular product have indicated difficulties with the set-up. The instructions are not entirely clear and take some things for granted, however, you can set it up yourself at a "relaxed" pace (about 2 hours).

The bike arrives well packaged from the factory, with fast shipment and it will take 2 sets of hands to get it out of the carton. I recommend using the brochures that come with the bike as a backup to view the product as your assembling it; they will help. (The illustration on the instruction sheet is somewhat deficient. Three notes: The instructions are not clear on the handle set-up. Look at the brochure(s) for proper placement. Second; the instructions are not clear on the connection for the instrumentation unit. The connection is "on the hub" of the bike/wheel by means of a tab. The instructions mention nothing about the location/tab connection. Thirdly, have some lithium/white grease available to aid in the assembly of the pedal rods/handles.)

One or two things were trial/error - but certainly doable. The good news is: Once completed, you may wonder why you had problems with the assembly.

The actual working of the bike is nothing short of a smooth operation. After assembly, you will enjoy the ease of use and will note that as time goes by, you continue to improve both distance and time as you use the bike. I brought the bike from home to my parents house for the holidays to continue my daily routine and I am working on them to purchase one. Both my parents are older and are in need of a machine with zero impact since my mother has had knee surgery and her level of mobility has suffered. My father relishes his daily walks, although weather frequently hampers/postpones his outings. So something like this should be just the ticket for the both of them.

Myself - I use the bike several times (1-2 miles/use) a day and it has improved my leg circulation/level of energy. This was my primary reason for the purchase of the bike; improved circulation.

Overall - I am quite pleased. Though the "fan" is a "bit" noisy, other posters mention the "breeze" created by the blades. (It is not obnoxiously noisy; it is after all, just a large fan.) The breeze is a nice touch and a welcome relief during the course of your workout.

I imagine we will purchase one this week.

A truely superior product. Assembly was easy. The machine is even more than we expected. I recommend it highly.
