5 stars for the situp- 4 stars for roman chair
The only reason I didn't give this bench 5 stars was because it isn't the greatest for use as a roman chair. It works, but because your legs are locked at the knees and you are standing completely straight as opposed to slightly forward, it is not the most comfortable position. If it had two sets of pads instead of one- another one at the bottom, out a little from the base, it would be better IMO. For abs and construction I give it 5 stars. It is gym quality and very strong and easy to put together. 2008-10-21

Does what it's supposed to do
This really does act as a combination Roman Chair-Sit-Up Bench. It will give your abs a good workout and you have control over how much intensity you want to do and still keep good form. It's also half the size of my old incline bench, which I used to "misuse" to make it like a Roman Chair, so it fits in my new apartment easily. Regarding the instructions: the drawing on the cover of the instruction booklet makes you think that the leg holders are attached "inside" the frame, but if you look carefully at the drawing of how to put it together, and even double-check by looking at the photo of the bench on the Internet, it goes on the "outside." 2006-08-23
